If you are currently seeing this issue when configuring a new profile in Outlook 2016 when using Office 365, don’t panic, there might be an easy solution. This morning I came in to see that ALL of my Office 365 clients were unable to configure new profiles in outlook.
This appears to be happening only on the latest version of Outlook / Windows and seems to be caused by a previous registry workaround published by Microsoft.
This fix for this is easy,
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity
Change the value of DisableADALatopWAMOverride to 0
Try creating a new profile again
Obviously this isn’t a good long term fix however in a bind this does seem to fix things, I’ll update the article when I have more information from Microsoft about why this has caused issues and when they expect to push out a new update.
